Everyone knows one of the most effective methods of learning a foreign language is reading. But it is unlikely that it can completely replace grammar lessons. Rather, reading is an excellent complement to language courses or lessons with a tutor.
The main rule is to read fascinating books, articles, publications. And do it regularly.
But how do you carve out time for this daily activity? The first thing that comes to mind is to buy or borrow a book from the library and read a few pages before going to bed or on the way to work. But there is a chance that you will quickly get bored with the book and reading will turn into torture. We recommend practising Polish, reading newspapers and magazines. Firstly, it is a lively language with simple grammatical constructions. Secondly, you can choose a newspaper or magazine by topic and flip through the edition before buying it. Thirdly, you can read several articles a day and reread the material if necessary. Fourth, you have the choice of buying a newspaper or magazine in paper format (the cost is much lower than fiction books) or reading the issue on the publication's website.
For all you social media enthusiasts, there's a way to practise your language too. Find a publication you like and subscribe to its Facebook page. Now you won't be able to get away from language practice.
But remember, the basic principle is engaging and entertaining.
