At the beginning of 2019, the National Culture Centre conducted a survey among young people living in Poland. Respondents were asked their opinions about art and national heritage. Many questions related to the music they listen to. Based on this survey, the genres and artists that are closest to the hearts of Polish youth were identified.
A group of 2,069 adolescents aged 12-17 participated in the survey.
The study shows that up to 99% young people listen to music. Most said they listen to pop (62%) and rap/hip-hop (59%). A common choice is also
is dance music (37%), rock (33%), disco polo (32%), film music (26%) and electronic music (21%).

An interesting fact is that the list of 20 favourite youth performers includes the late Michael Jackson as well as Peja, whose popularity peaked a couple of decades ago.
BUT the most popular Polish vocalist Dawid Podsiadło did not make it to the top 20 of this unique list.
The National Culture Centre also proved that place of residence does not significantly influence the choice of favourite artists. Respondents both from big cities and from
of small villages voted for the same people.
