Krakow or Wroclaw?

Are you planning a move and asking your friends and acquaintances for advice on which city to choose... Wroclaw or Krakow? It is difficult to give a clear answer to this question. These are two popular destinations for relocation among foreigners.

We tried to help and collected some facts about these cities:

  • Wroclaw is a city of students, with more than half a million students studying here. Krakow is home to the oldest university in Europe.
  •  Wroclaw is located next to the Czech Republic and Germany. From Krakow it is easier to get to Slovakia and Ukraine.
  • Wroclaw is a former German city. German architecture has been preserved here. Krakow is the former capital of Poland. In the center of the city is the castle of the Polish kings.
  • Wroclaw is called the "Polish Venice". Beautiful canals and bridges across the Odra invite you to stroll along the embankments in any weather. Krakow is famous for its authentic districts. For example, Kazimierz, the old Jewish district, is steeped in history and creativity.
  • Wroclaw is the sunniest city in Poland by number of days per year. Krakow is famous for its rains and fogs.
  • Due to its geographical location, the average air temperature in Wroclaw is several degrees higher than in Krakow. Krakow is located in a lowland and there are practically no strong winds.
  • For the same reason, the environmental situation, especially in winter, in Wroclaw is much better than in Krakow.
  • Wroclaw and Krakow have in common the presence of offices of many large companies. If you are not aiming for high positions and are looking for work in a factory or plant, then you should go to Wroclaw, for example, to the LG plant.
  • Both cities boast excellent infrastructure and accessible environments for people with disabilities.
  • Wroclaw and Krakow have a well-developed transport system and airports. Unfortunately, most low-cost airlines fly from Katowice.

However, there is one undeniable advantage of Wroclaw that you should know about.

In the very center of the city there is a language school for adults and children - LITERA.
Of course, there are also good Polish language schools in Krakow.
BUT, only our school is located in a historic 19th century building, in the halls of which balls were held and royal persons visited.
