Public Foundation for Foreigners "RED" in Wrocław

Recently, hundreds of thousands of post-Soviet citizens have moved to Poland to live and work. This phenomenon is favoured by Poland's developed economy, similarity of languages and the support of the country's government. But everyone who has decided to take this step knows how difficult it is to adapt in a new society. Often the integration process is painful and long. For many people it is important to integrate into the host community based on kinship and ethnic ties. They are not ready to give up their past life and need the support of compatriots. It is for such people that the RED Public Organisation in Wrocław was established.

Mission RED.

Assistance to citizens of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and other countries in comfortable integration into Polish society.

How the idea to open a public fund for foreigners came about

Elizaveta Pribyshchenia, the head of the RED Foundation, tells us what goals the management and staff of the Foundation have:

"The main goal of the foundation is to strengthen ties between the Polish community and citizens of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and other countries. Development of co-operation in the sphere of culture, education, economy between the countries. Assistance to emigrants in legalising their stay on the territory of the Polish Republic. In addition, support in organising life: finding accommodation, employment, education and reducing the language barrier. In our office foreigners can get advice on how to run a business.

The idea of the RED Foundation emerged during a period of active educational activities in Wrocław. It was in this city that our Litera Development and Education Centre was opened in 2017. For two years, we taught Polish to adults and children. The centre hosted free integration meetings and consultations. We wanted to show our students that they are welcome and ready to help here in Poland. There were more and more people who wanted support, protection and assistance in social matters. We were approached by representatives of businesses and NGOs to organise joint actions and campaigns for immigrants. This made us think about the need to create a foundation. An organisation that would be active in informational and cultural activities. This is how our foundation "RED" came into being.

Objectives of the RED Fund

We plan to organise various events: meetings, master classes, trainings, seminars, conferences, round tables, discussion clubs and holiday parties. We prepare legal, economic and financial consultations from leading experts in their field. Our foreigners' assistance centre has already started its work. Here any person can get advice, support in finding accommodation, employment, solving household issues and educational issues for adults and children. We are open to dialogue and do not miss the opportunity to participate in conferences, congresses and seminars on immigrant issues in Poland. In addition, during the few months of its work, the Foundation has established friendly and partnership relations with businesses, public and non-governmental organisations and governmental institutions. In the future, we plan to develop co-operation with foreign partners as well, in order to realise our goals and objectives to the full.

We are confident that the Foundation's activities and public campaigns with our partners will help to overcome negative stereotypes, increase tolerance and mutual understanding between Polish society and immigrants.

RED Foundation invites to cooperation commercial and public organisations, as well as Polish citizens and citizens of other countries who are actively involved in non-governmental organisations in Poland. We are always glad to make new acquaintances!"
