Most European countries remain closed to tourists and the situation may not improve any time soon. But there is no need to despair, because in Poland There's plenty to see too. Go to one of the country's many national parks. There you can see mountains, lakes, meet bison and walk along the dunes.
In total, there are 23 national nature parks in Poland. The largest is the Biebrzański National Park (Polish: Biebrzański Park Narodowy) and the smallest is the Ojcowski Park (Polish: Ojcowski Park Narodowy), located near Krakow. Białowieża National Park
You should start with the oldest and most famous national park in the country - the Białowieża Nature Reserve (Polish: Białowieża National Park). Here you can see bison and enjoy the height of old trees. The park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
Tatrzański Park Narodowy
The second park is the Tatra National Park (Polish: Tatrzański Park Narodowy)This place has been awarded the proud title of World Biosphere Reserve. It is also one of the most visited parks in Poland.
Park Narodowy Gór Stołowych
The third national park is located near Wrocław and is called the National Park of Table Mountains (Polish: Park Narodowy Gór Stołowych). In the vicinity you will find many hiking trails, the main among them is the Sudeten Road. There is also a wonderful "rock city" on Szczeliniec Wielki, Błędne labyrinths in the Skalniaka massif, Puchacza rocks, Radkowskie rocks, also called mushrooms, Łężyckie Skałki, reminiscent of Savannah. In short, this park is definitely worth a visit if you live in Wrocław.
Słowiński Park Narodowy
The fourth one is located on the coastal areas of Poland and is called the Słowiński National Park (Polish: Słowiński Park Narodowy). It was named after the Slavic people of Slovinia, who lived here until the second half of the 20th century. Imagine, the park has about 140 kilometres of hiking trails. There are observation towers next to the lakes, and along the trails you can find benches and places to rest. There are plenty of car parks around the park, as well as hotels and campsites, especially in Leba.
Kampinoski Park Narodowy
We gave the fifth place to the Kampinoski National Park (Polish: Kampinoski Park Narodowy). It is located in the central part of the country, in the vicinity of Warsaw. This reserve is also called "the green lungs of Warsaw". The Kampinoski National Park is an interesting and beautiful place for easy cycling. The longest of the cycling routes is 144.5 kilometres long. It is partly outside the park boundaries, due to the numerous bogs and sand dunes found there.
Biebrzański Park Narodowy
The largest park in the country, the Biebrzański National Park (Polish: Biebrzański Park Narodowy), should not be overlooked. It is known as a "wet area" and a wild, mysterious place. It is also a real bird paradise. Guests of the park can enjoy hiking trails, the total length of which is close to 600 kilometres. These are hiking, cycling and kayaking trails. The Podlaska Stork Trail cycling route deserves special attention. No less remarkable is the kayaking trip along the Biebrze River.
It is also worth visiting the Warta River Mouth National Park (Polish: Warta River Mouth). Park Narodowy Ujście Warty), Polesie National Park (Polish. Poleski Park Narodowy), Wielkopolski National Park (Polish. Wielkopolski Park Narodowy), Karkonosze National Park (Polish. Karkonoski Park Narodowy).
