About the TELC exam

What is the TELC exam? TELC (The European Language Certificates) is an international standardised system for assessing knowledge of 10 European languages. Compliance with exam regulations is monitored by telc gmbH, located in Frankfurt am Main. Currently, telc gmbH offers more than 70 certificates of varying scope and complexity, covering different levels and aspects of language skills. These exams comply with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Structure of the TELC exam

The exam consists of five parts, assessing different aspects of language proficiency:

Rozumienie ze słuchu

Listening (listening comprehension)

Translation of written text

Reading (understanding written text)

~45 minutes

Gramatyka

Grammar

~30 minutes

Pisanie

Writing (e.g. writing an email)

~30 minutes

Oral speech (for example, describing a picture)

Registration for the exam

Registration process:

  1. Fill out the registration form (on the right)
  2. Make a payment within 3 days after confirmation
  3. Get an invitation for the exam with detailed instructions

    Who can take the exam?

    • Foreign citizens aged 18 years and over, as well as Polish citizens permanently residing abroad
    • Persons under 18 years of age may take the exam with written permission from a parent or legal guardian.

    Important information:

    • Only persons who have paid the fee are allowed to take the exam.
    • You must have a valid photo ID with you on the day of the exam.
    • Participants must comply with the provisions of the Exam Regulations

    Frequently asked questions

    What language level is required to pass the exam?

    The exam evaluates knowledge at levels B1/B2. The commission determines the level of language proficiency based on the exam results (A2, B1 or B2). You cannot choose the difficulty of the tests yourself.

    How long is a TELC certificate valid?

    The TELC certificate has no expiration date. However, some institutions may require a recent certificate (usually no older than 2 years).

    Is it possible to retake the exam if you fail the first time?

    Yes, you can retake the exam. To do this, you must re-register and pay the exam fee.

    What documents are needed to pass the exam?

    On the day of the exam, you must have a valid photo ID (passport or ID card).

    Do you provide materials for preparation?

    Yes, we offer practice tests and can recommend study materials. We also offer preparation for the exam at the Litera Center.

    How quickly will I receive my exam results?

    The exam results become available 6-8 weeks after passing. The certificate can be picked up in person at our center or ordered for delivery by InPost / Poczta Polska

    Так, я сміливо можу сказати що я рекомендую мовну школу Litera!!!Я займалась польською ще в Україні, але нажаль немає сенсу щось вчити та не викостовувати (так як швидко все забуваєш). І ось коли я приїхала жити до Вроцлава, я зрозуміла, що боюсь розмовляти, що все забула і що не можу сказати те що хочу, та почуваю себе не в своїй тарілці, і коли я це все усвідомила, швиденько вирішила знайти курси польської. По рекомендаціям моєї подруги я знайшла школу „Litera\"! З плюсів: по-перше це вчитель- носій (доречі дякую вам pani Alicja): це людина яка говорить тільки польською, і ти можеш кожного уроку розмовляти і слухати як правильно говорити, куди правильно ставити наголос! По-друге це приємні ціни, так як в інших школах такий курс вдвічі дорожче! По-третє це приємна атмосфера, де тебе зрозуміють! Пані Катя та пані Ліза знають українську, російську та польську мови, тому все лояльно та розумно можуть пояснити та проконсультувати))) З мінусів: для мене особисто їх не було!! Дякую вам за все, та іще хочу сказати, якщо ви зараз в пошуках школи польської мови, чи обираєте між чимось, одразу скажу не сумнівайтесь обирайте Літеру❤️
